Who We Are

Who We Are

The Admiral Trust is a charitable trust, established in January 2012, which aims to provide resources, encouragement and support to those in need.

We’re not just any Trust though. We are there for our Friends. Any Friend can ask us for help and support with any cause they are working towards, no matter how big or small. Whatever we can do, we will.

The Trust was founded in January 2012 by Terry Withers, Managing Director of Admiral Scaffolding and Roy Anklesaria, Managing Director of the Affordable Services Group with the stated aim to give back to the community of which they were a part.

As the board looked to expand and diversify, Beth Withers was also invited to be a Trustee. The three Trustees continue to look for public spirited and dynamic individuals to join them on the Board, in order to make The Admiral Trust a success.

No cause is too big or too small. All of us feel that anything that makes even one person’s life just a little bit better is worth doing.

Born and bred in London, Terry Withers completed a Grammar School education before joining the George Wimpey training scheme as a junior surveyor. He spent three years working in their Private Development Section whilst studying for his MIOD at the South Bank Polytechnic.
After leaving Wimpey he joined M J Gleeson, again in their Homes division, where he stayed for a further three years. At this point he decided that it was time to move out of the private development sector and branch out into main contracting, so a move to Harry Neal was secured. As Site Quantity Surveyor he oversaw the development of the Rampayne St/Pimlico Station project for HM Commissioners.
In 1983, he branched out of mainline construction and set up Nickle Scaffolding from scratch. Over the years the company expanded by buying a number of other scaffolding companies such as Estate, TripleAAA and Avalon before acquiring the largest of them all in Admiral. Admiral was bought in 2000 and the Admiral Scaffolding Group was formed and took all of the other scaffolding entities under the one umbrella. In 2004 The Group moved to its present location in Wimbledon and continues to thrive under Terry’s direction.

Roy Anklesaria - Secretary and Treasurer

Born in Bombay (now Mumbai), in India, Roy came to England aged just one year-old with his parents in 1957. Growing up in Islington and then Wandsworth he went to Battersea Grammar School before graduating with a University Degree in Politics & History, Roy then spent two years at the College of Law in London undertaking the Common Professional Examination and Finals and his initial legal background involved working in firstly a West End firm of solicitors and then a major City firm. Roy then moved from the legal profession to join a substantial Private Property Company Group where he was the Company Secretary and then a Director for nearly 11 years managing a portfolio of properties initially valued at £45m and increasing to £115m by the time he left the Group in 1996.
Roy then spent 15 years in the Public Sector, firstly as a Projects Implementation Manager for London Buses, part of Transport for London, responsible for a £19m Infrastructure Project upgrading 17,000 bus stops and 10,000 bus shelters all around London. Following the successful completion of the project, Roy joined the Audit Commission in 2001 as a Senior Performance Auditor working in Central and Local Government, NHS Trusts, as well as Police, Ambulance and Fire Authorities as well as voluntary charitable and non-profit organisations. During this period he was involved with and led many high profile and detailed audit reviews and investigations in relation to Planning, Asset Management and Procurement Fraud and qualified as an Accredited Counter Fraud Investigator working with and alongside other investigators and police and regulatory authorities as necessary. Since July 2014 Roy has been a Director of the Institute of Counter Fraud Specialists.
Roy’s current full-time role is Managing Director of Incalmo Architects Limited, a growing Architects Practice working predominately in the residential housing and commercial sectors with a wide range of clients from major National Housebuilders, Housing Associations as well as other large private developers and private individual clients.
Putting something back into the Community has always been important to Roy and his interests outside of work have involved him being a Governor of two local schools over a 14 year period as well as the Secretary and Treasurer of a local football club. He qualified as a youth football coach and was the manager of Youth Football sides as well as an active Surrey County FA referee. However, as his two sons have now grown up, Roy has hung up his own boots. This has enabled him to become involved with the Admiral Trust where he was one of the original founding Trustees and his main role is to assist with more strategic matters and the overall governance.
