Who We Are

Who We Are

The Admiral Trust is a charitable trust, established in January 2012, which aims to provide resources, encouragement and support to those in need.

We’re not just any Trust though. We are there for our Friends. Any Friend can ask us for help and support with any cause they are working towards, no matter how big or small. Whatever we can do, we will.

The Trust was founded in January 2012 by Terry Withers, Managing Director of Admiral Scaffolding and Roy Anklesaria, Managing Director of the Affordable Services Group with the stated aim to give back to the community of which they were a part.

As the board looked to expand and diversify, Beth Withers was also invited to be a Trustee. The three Trustees continue to look for public spirited and dynamic individuals to join them on the Board, in order to make The Admiral Trust a success.

No cause is too big or too small. All of us feel that anything that makes even one person’s life just a little bit better is worth doing.

Born and bred in London, Terry Withers completed a Grammar School education before joining the George Wimpey training scheme as a junior surveyor. He spent three years working in their Private Development Section whilst studying for his MIOD at the South Bank Polytechnic.
After leaving Wimpey he joined M J Gleeson, again in their Homes division, where he stayed for a further three years. At this point he decided that it was time to move out of the private development sector and branch out into main contracting, so a move to Harry Neal was secured. As Site Quantity Surveyor he oversaw the development of the Rampayne St/Pimlico Station project for HM Commissioners.
In 1983, he branched out of mainline construction and set up Nickle Scaffolding from scratch. Over the years the company expanded by buying a number of other scaffolding companies such as Estate, TripleAAA and Avalon before acquiring the largest of them all in Admiral. Admiral was bought in 2000 and the Admiral Scaffolding Group was formed and took all of the other scaffolding entities under the one umbrella. In 2004 The Group moved to its present location in Wimbledon and continues to thrive under Terry’s direction.

Roy Anklesaria - Secretary and Treasurer

Roy Anklesaria - Secretary and Treasurer

Born in Bombay, India, Roy’s parents came to England in 1957 when he was only six months old. Roy grew up and lived in Islington, Battersea, Leytonstone, Peckham and even Baker Street in London before moving to Surrey with his wife Gill, shortly before the birth of their two sons Luke and Jack.
After getting his BSc degree in Politics & History, Roy spent two years at the College of Law, before becoming a commercial conveyancer with a West End and then major City solicitors firm. A substantial private property company client approached Roy and he joined them as a Director and Company Secretary for 11 years before moving into the public sector. Roy then spent five years with London Buses (part of Transport for London) and then 10 years with the Audit Commission as a Senior Specialist and Performance Manager. During that time, he has worked with Central Government, the NHS and many local authorities to deliver assessments and reviews in public sector procurement, asset, performance and contract management. Roy also qualified as an accredited Counter-Fraud Investigator and has been involved in some high profile investigations and public interest reports.
Roy is now Managing Director of the Affordable Service Group of Companies, which includes a growing architects practice as well as a consultancy and professional training company working with central and local government as well as the private sector.
Putting something back in the community is important to Roy. He spent 12 years as a Governor of local schools and also 14 years (simultaneously – he’s not that old!) as a qualified football coach, referee and also Secretary of a local football club. He now relishes the challenges of getting involved in raising funds for good causes with the Admiral Trust.
